The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademis Skoler for Arkitektur, Design og Konservering, or KADK) provides an artistically and academically based education in architecture, design, conservation and restoration to the highest level, while promoting development and encouraging research in these fields. Founded in 2011, KADK grew from the merger of the academy's School of Architecture, the Danish Design School and the academy's School of Conservation and today it trains 1,600 students through its undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education programmes. Featuring a unique combination of research, practice and artistic innovation, a key aim for the academy is to pass on Nordic values and train graduates who will shape the future, society and cultural heritage.
